Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is a “membership practice”?
In a membership based practice, each member pays a fee to join the practice and in return each member gets a comprehensive Wellness Exam, more time and attention directly with Dr. Kapoor, care coordination, and enhanced communications. Dr. Kapoor will have more time for each member because there will be a limit of 500 members in the practice.
2. What do I get as a member?
• Active “Preventative Care” as opposed to “Reactionary Care”.
• An annual comprehensive Wellness Exam.
• Longer appointment times when needed.
• Discounts on weight loss program, nutritionist services.
• Tailored health planning to meet your individual healthcare needs.
• House Calls as needed.
• Preemptive management of your health as the crisis over healthcare worker shortages continue to escalate.

3. But Dr. Kapoor provides much of this already. Why do I need to join as a member?
Changes in the healthcare system have recently accelerated. Costs have skyrocketed, and reimbursements from insurance companies have gone down. Increasingly, there has been pressure for Dr. Kapoor to make a decision – either join a large corporate driven system where he will have to see 3 times the number of patients each day and lose the time and attention he gives to each patient, or find a way to continue to deliver the outstanding service and caring attention you have gotten used to. Setting up a membership based practice will allow Dr. Kapoor to continue with his unique approach to you as a patient, and will allow him to offer even more services than he does now.
4. How much does it cost?
Not as much as you might think. You can become a member in the practice for $1800 per year. That works out to $150 per month – less than 2 trips to the gas station, or less than a typical cell phone bill. You can pay in one annual sum, or pay quarterly to make it easier on your budget.
5. Can I pay through my Health Savings Account?
Your membership fees may be eligible to be paid through a Health Savings Account or other similar account. Of course, plans differ, so you will want to check with your individual plan manager.
6. I’m pretty healthy right now – what if I decide to wait until next year to join?
There are many reasons membership might make sense for you even if you are healthy. If you value your time and don’t like waiting for doctor’s visits, or if you would like to stay proactive in your health and just need a health “coach”, then membership would be a good idea. Because of the high level of service that Dr. Kapoor will focus on each member, the practice will be limited to only 500 members.
7. What happens if I don’t join? Where will I go for my primary care?
Dr. Kapoor has been fortunate to have worked closely with Kenya Henderson, a very talented Physician’s Assistant, for several years now. Kenya will continue to be available for those patients that do not join the membership practice.
8. When does the membership practice begin?
Starting August 1st, the transition to the new membership model will be complete and you can start to realize the benefits of the new practice.
